some things and obliquely related songs

Something I’m curious about: Gwyneth Paltrow is making music. Sounds like a joke, but I would actually give it a chance. And this has nothing to do with Chris Martin–she’s working with William Oribit. Apparently they already have a perfect single done. Only time will tell, but with the way Coldplay is going these days Gwyneth might end up stealing the musical spotlight from her spouse.

Something I can’t wait for: November 17, when the next Christopher Guest movie For Your Consideration comes out. It’s about the making of an indie film called “Home For Purim” that starts to get award buzz. This time with a part for Ricky Gervais! woot!

Something I’m bored with: Summer show schedules. Time and weather beg for the bands to pour through but they must all be in Europe cause by the end of summer I’ll have been to like one show since Coachella. I guess I’ll have to wait till the fall when Ladytron comes to Utah for the first time ever! Check out their fall tour schedule.

  1. About Gwyneth singing: Did any of y’all ever hear her version of “Bette Davis Eyes”? It’s from a really lame movie I can’t even remember now, except it was set in a karaoke bar, and Huey Lewis is in it too…ANYWAY – * it is really good *…she’s got quite a nice, pleasant voice. Google it, see what ya find.

  2. the ladytron link doesn’t work – stink ow!
