Last night we saw a screening of Introducing the Dwights, an Australian film about a boy torn between his casino comedienne mother and his girl. We’d heard mixed reviews, it was too weird for some, the new Muriel’s Wedding for others. I fall more on the side of the latter. I hate when I’m told too much about a movie before I see it, so I’ll hold back. But there are several moments in it that just kill me. The amazing cast is what makes it. Our hero, the nutter mom, the love interest, and especially the retarded brother–they’re all irresistable. And familiar somehow, like you already know them. In most cities it’s released this Friday. Go!
